Kerala, locally known as Keralam, is a state on the southwestern coast of India, formed on 1 November 1956. Spread over 38,863 km2, Kerala is bordered by Karnataka, Tamil Nadu(Two other Indian states) and Arabian Sea with more than 35 million inhabitants. Malayalam is the most widely spoken language.

Kerala - “THE GODS OWN COUNTRY”, also known as the land of coconuts is unique in many ways. Kerala has traded its spices – cardamom, ginger, turmeric and black pepper – with Arab, Chinese and European merchants for thousands of years. Sugatha Kumari, a Keralite poet and ecologist, said: “Once there was a time when the whole world was enamored of the fragrance of Kerala”. Kerala cuisines are linked in all its richness to the history, geography, demography and culture of the land. Kerala cuisine has a magnitude of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
